Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Mr Osman Nurković, announced that the first kilometres of Bar-Boljari highway would be finished by the end of June next year.
Completion of works on Smokovac-Mateševo section has been postponed earlier for 30 September this year. However, the present implementation tempo indicates that works can’t be finished by that deadline.
“Having regard to the level of completion of works and in accordance with the view of the competent authority, we believe that it will be just a matter of few months and that works are expected to be finished in mid May 2021. By June next year, we expect everything to become fully operational”, Mr Nurković said.
Minister also said that costs of the highway were definitely higher.
The initial price was €809,57 million while priority works cost €58,4 million.
Cabling for permanent electricity supply along the section will cost €4,8 million.
Works on the priority section are carried out China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
Minister said that majority of the citizens supported the highway construction.
