The Government paid $4,5 million for installments

Montenegrin and Bar Navigation Bar paid Tuesday the first loan installments for this year to the Chinese Exim Bank , in the total amount of $4,9 million.

Around $4,54 million was paid from the state budget and the rest was paid by the Navigation from bar from their own funds.  Ever since installments of the loans for the purchase of four ships started to be paid, around $35,7 million has been paid so far.

Representatives of Montenegrin navigation said to “Pobjeda” that the eighth installment had been paid ($2,84 million). The next installment is due on 21st July of this year and it amounts $2,8 million.

Representatives of the company in Kotor think that the current rents of ships aren’t enough – they still can’t pay the loan by themselves. But, Montenegrin Navigation will certainly take part in the repayment of the loan.

Last year the state paid a total of  $5,8 million for the purposes of the repayment of the loan for purchasing ships.

In 2012, Bar Navigation signed the agreement on provision of two ships and the credit funds for it were provided by the Exim Bank. Ever since the loan became effective, the company has been meeting its liabilities using their own funds.

The liabilities included payment of the interest on loan during the five-year long grace period as well as payment of the first installment last year in July, when the grace period expired and the period of loan repayment began.

Apart from the installment, in January last year the company also paid an interest in the amount of around $475.000.
