Rector of the University of Montenegro, Mr Danilo Nikolić, met today with the ambassador of the USA, Mrs Judy Rising Reinke. Interlocutors discussed the cooperation they had so far and programs available to researchers and students.
Mr Nikolić highlighted long tradition our University has in cooperation with the universities in the USA, given the fact that the first international agreement was signed in 1975 with the State University in Florida. Fulbrait program has made considerable contribution to science development in Montenegro, giving our scientists chance to improve themselves in the USA.
Rector also emphasized preparedness to further the cooperation with the universities and establish partnership, strategic cooperation with specific universities.
He stressed the importance of English language fellowship program, which provided English teacher for foreigners for this academic year.
Ambassador Reinker agreed with Mr Nikolić’s proposal and expressed readiness to fully support in the establishment of such form of cooperation. The University will identify priority scientific areas and, in accordance with them, will work on the establishment of adequate partnership.
Mrs Reinke praised efforts of the University put in the teaching in English and accreditation of such programs. She emphasized the program of academic exchange for the teaching staff and students in particular.
