According to Mr Ivo Županović, professor at the Faculty of Business and Tourism in Budva, tourism will suffer significant fall.
He said that third package of assistance to the economy “generates two directions – maintaining liquidity and tourism turnover”.
“I think in some ways of survival of sustainability of tourism sector must be found in September again”, professor Županović said.
In a statement for Info biro, Mr Županović pointed out that reduced VAT rate should be extended, because tourism economy won’t recover that easily.
“It is really important to help tour-operators and agencies”, he pointed out.
MILIĆ: DIFFICULT PERIOD AHEAD OS US
Owner and director of a chain of boutique hotels Casa del Mare, Mr Nikola Milić, was forced to shut down all six hotels due to COVID-19 epidemic.
“The only hotel that is working now is Casa del Mare Mediterraneo. We are not satisfied. The restaurant and beach are functioning pretty well, but generally speaking, we have been through some very difficult time and I believe there’s more to expect”, Mr Milić said.
He added that waiting for the third package of measures “paid off”.
“I still believe that Montenegrin tourism has a strong chance after coronavirus crisis. Our natural resources are huge and I think travelling stricture will considerably change”, Mr Milić said.
