Time for international solidarity, not isolation

EU support for Montenegro for mitigating consequences of the coronavirus epidemic will be focused on the most vulnerable enterprises, including companies which work in tourism and transport, document of the EU Commission “Communication on the Global EU Response to COVID-19” has shown.

It has been emphasized that the EU has collected considerable support for social and economic help in the WB.

Total help package amounts to €374,5 million, €50 million of the amount being earmarked for Montenegro.

The EU has already earmarked funds for the WB and immediate support for healthcare sector (€38 million).

The document highlights it is now time for international solidarity and leadership.

“The EU is doing its best to contribute to this battle. Well-being of our partners around the world is important for every European”, the document says.

The document concludes that fight for the defeat of the coronavirus on internal plan can be successful only if the virus is defeated on global level.
