Railway transportation would significantly improve tourism offer of our country if it introduced special timetable once a week only for the tourists travelling from Bar to Kolašin.
This was the conclusion drawn at the yesterday’s meeting held between the Director of Railway Transport, Nenad Babić, Head of Commercials, Mirko Rmnadić and the representatives of Tourist Organizations of Podgorica, Bar, Nikšić and Bijelo Polje.
They also stated that the networking with travel agencies was required.
“This type of offer would enable slower ride, so that tourists can see all the interesting landscapes, have enough time to stop at specific locations and take photos and, thus, make their experience more valuable”, said Mr Babić and added that they were very satisfied with the cooperation with Adria agency which organizes the transport of tourist groups from Bar to Kolašin.
“This year we’ll focus on local transport, since we expect some problems in the international transport in Serbia. Stretch of the railway from Belgrade to Subotica will be reconstructed and the train from Subotica probably won’t be running”, explained Mr Babić.
Rmandić has said that by the end of April they will introduce computerized system by means of which the passengers will be able to buy or book tickets, 24 hours, using mobile application. They will also have special channel that will network them with the European Organization for Selling Tickets. That means that tourists will be able to buy tickets or book them here and want to travel from Vienna to Brussels.
Representatives of travel agencies promised to help and pointed out the need for the reconstruction of stations in Crmnica and Virpazar, opening information desk in Virpazar and setting out timetable in English at all stations. They also suggest that the station “Airport” in Podgorica be better connected with the airport in Golubovci, so that air and railway transport can be connected better.
