Traders in Montenegro request the abolition of Sundays off, the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, PKCG, has stated.
The Board of the PKCG’s Association of Trade required today the abolition of Article 35a of the Law on Internal Market, that is, the abolition of Sundays off.
Traders said: “We urge the competent ministry to strike down Article 35a of the Internal Market Law and enable traders to work on Sundays in order to preserve jobs, increase the profit, commercial affairs and economic growth, address consequences of the economic crisis and prepare the forthcoming tourism season.”
If state bodies refuse to accept their proposal, that is, strike down the above-mentioned article, traders offer another solution – to work on 26 Sundays over a year, i.e. during the summer and winter tourism season, New Year holidays and half term.
The Board passed the Work Report and the 2020 Information on the Trade Sector Business Affairs, and amended the Decision on establishing the Real Estate Trade Group as well.
