Two priests ordered to self-isolate

None religious official of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, MCP, Diocese of Kotor and the Islamic Community in Montenegro had tested for the coronavirus, while two MCP priests were issued a measure of self-isolation, representatives of the traditional religious communities and churches in MNE told Dan daily.

The MCP Secretariat stated they didn’t know that any of priests had tested for the coronavirus.

“We have been informed about the two cases, i.e. priests were issued a measure of self-isolation because they had returned from abroad (both were in countries in the region due to private obligations). The measure expires at the end of this week. They show no signs of Covid-19,” the MCP representatives told Dan, a daily.

As for the Diocese of Kotor, there are neither people tested for the new virus nor those ordered to self-isolate, Don Robert Tonsati, a chancellor of the Diocese of Kotor told. He underlined that priests adhere to determined measures and do not go outside.

A secretary of Montenegro’s Islamic Community, Mr Suad Čekić, said no person was tested for the coronavirus in the Islamic Community.
