Uncontrolled recruitment causes late salary payments in Rožaje

Rožaje

Employees in the Rožaje local self-government haven’t received 8 salaries. The last one they got was in November 2017 and according to CdM, a new systematization has been planned, based on which some of them will be fired.

CdM wanted to find out more about the matter and thus called mayor of the Municipality of Rožaje, Ejup Nurković, of the Bosniak Party (BS), but he didn’t answer.

As for the staff, they have been disappointed but are afraid to speak publicly. The situation is more than disturbing and in their opinion, there’s no way out. Many of them have to work some other jobs in order to earn some money for their families.

“The situation has been alarming. Diaspora is trying to help, but that’s not enough,” one of the local employees told.

Just to remind you, the Municipality of Rožaje has been heavily criticized for increasing the number of personnel. According to data of the NGO Institute Alternative, this municipality has recruited 189 people, which means it now has more than 400 employees.

The Bosniak Party (BS) won a landslide victory in Rožaje in local elections held on 27 May 2018.
