Up to 250 million EUR for debt refinancing

Next year, the state will conclude loan arrangements with international financial institutions and they will be worth 214 million EUR.

Debt Decision stipulates that the credit arrangement with the Council of Europe Development Bank will amount 15 million EUR and it will be used for the construction of prison in Mojkovac, 10 million for the continuation of 1000 + Project, the same amount of money for the construction and reconstruction of pre-school facilities. The loan arrangement with the European Investment Bank will amount 18 million EUR and it will be intended for education infrastructure: 6 million for the rehabilitation of roads and bypasses and another 40 million for the reconstruction of trunk roads.

The World Bank will provide a loan of 15 million EUR for the optimization plan and payment of gratuities to the employees of the public sector. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide 15 million EUR for the a part of the reconstruction of trunk roads, German Investment Bank will provide 10 million for the fifth phase of water supply and wastewater management at the Montenegrin coast and another 45 million for energy efficiency in the public institutions.

“The decision also enables the debt of 370 million EUR for the purposes of budget financing.  Around 190 million EUR will be required for financing budget needs, capital budget and payment of debt, whereas around 180 million EUR is intended for financing section of Bar-Boljare motorway”, said the General Director of the Directorate for State Treasury, Dragan Darmanović.

He said that next year, the state might be indebted in the amount of 250 million EUR, for the needs of debt refinancing. All the aforementioned debts are in accordance with the Law on Budget for 2019.
