“A girl who was an eyewitness said that a 50 year old man came from the settlement of Zagoric running with a gun and shot the dog because it allegedly bit his child,” Dragoje Vlahovic from the NGO “Friends of Animals” told the portal CdM.
He stressed that this was not the first case of killing dogs in a cruel way, particularly in this part of town.
“We need to draw the attention of the authorities to finally do something about it. It happened in a busy part of the road where children are walking and a firearm was used. Therefore, we wonder what else needs to happen in order for the relevant authorities to act”, Mr Vlahovic pointed out.
He emphasised that in the past year (that long his organisation has been engaged in this work), there had been a lot of similar cases, and none of them had been resolved.
“Therefore, this way we are urging them to do something to protect these poor animals as well as citizens who watch such scenes on a daily basis”, Mr Vlahovic said.
