She believes that HGI can be an example of a minority political party achieving results through its consistency and recognisability.
“Indigenous Croats in Montenegro have witnessed many historic political changes in the various states in areas which they inhabited for centuries, not losing their national, spiritual and cultural identity. At the same time we never doubt that Montenegro is our homeland where we attain our rights. We want to preserve our customs, traditions and culture for future generations through preserving the cultural heritage of Croatian community in Montenegro,” Vucinovic told Pobjeda daily.
According to her, it is clear that causing a political crisis in Montenegro just before receiving the invitation for NATO was the background of Democratic Front’s protests.
As she stated, the protest was aimed at destabilising state institutions, to present Montenegro as an unstable country that does not deserve a place in the NATO Alliance.
“Although I believe that the street protests are a legitimate way of expressing dissatisfaction in democratic countries, in my opinion this situation in Montenegro should be resolved through dialogue in the Parliament, not through the boycott,” Vucinovic said.
Among other things, she added she expects the intensity of protest to reduce, and the protest organisers, who are also MPs, to return to the Parliament and achieve their demands through a reasoned dialogue.
