MP of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Ivan Vukovic, warns on X about, as he notes, a series of alarming events across Montenegro in just a few days, that, according to him, point out to a serious destabilization of the system and the collapse of the institutional order.
He recalls that a young man was assassinated in the centre of Podgorica by a same perpetrator who had previously wounded him and was searched by police. The footage of the assassination leaked to the media and shocked the country.
He also indicates that the members of the political party run by the Montenegro Parliament Speaker attacked the President of the Municipality of Budva who has been seriously injured.
The recent statement of a leader of one of the ruling parties who sought referendum for stepping away from NATO makes the situation additionally worrying, Mr Vukovic claims, perceiving it as a direct threat to the foreign policy orientation of the country.
Mr Vukovic also criticizes officials of the ruling coalition in the capital’s local government who visited Draza Mihailovic Museum and the Russian State Duma.
The DPS MP assesses that the proposal for the law limiting the right to free gathering, although determined by the Constitution, is another attempt of undermining democratic standards.

He reflected on the decision to hand a prestigious 13th of July award to the author who, as he said, denied the Montenegrin national identity. “Alongside the recognition, this author received a cash prize in the amount of 13 average salaries.”
