At today’s solemn session of the capital’s assembly to mark the Liberation Day – 19 December – the Mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vukovic, noted that neither Podgorica nor Montenegro would agree to nationalism and populism. He also said that Podgorica would keep developing and improving despite the obstruction of the Government of Montenegro.
No one from the government at the state level attended the solemn session.
The Mayor also added that the 19th of December was marked today with a feeling of pride and respect for those whom we own our chance to live freely and with dignity.
He has a message for those who, according to him, have been trying to undermine both Podgorica and Montenegro in terms of values. “We’ll keep protecting the values of freedom and anti-fascism from intolerance, hatred, chauvinism and primitivism”.
