Proposal for the next year’s budget, amounting to €93,7 million, creates conditions for intense development of the Capital City, said Mayor of Podgorica, Mr Ivan Vuković.
More than €53 million accounts for the capital budget. Mr Vuković says that the capital budget will be the greatest so far.
“We’ve created conditions for beginning next year with great ambitions but on healthy and sustainable foundations”, said Mr Vuković.
Wastewater treatment system and construction of South-West bypass are the most important projects. Mayor hopes that by 2020, construction of city theater will be finished too.
“In a word, we’ve created conditions for intense development of Podgorica in 2020. If we manage to maintain the same level of financing, Podgorica will definitely go through a renaissance”, pointed out Mr Vuković.
Modern gallery instead of a department store
Former department store Beograd in the center of Podgorica will become a new, modern gallery, if technical conditions allow.
“We’ll try to shape it financially”, said Mr Vuković.
Water prices go up
Request for the rise in water prices in Podgorica will be delayed for the next five years, according to the Capital City Administration.
However, price corrections should definitely take place.
“€1 or €2 at monthly level, that’s all citizens will feel”, said Mr Vuković.
