Waiting for Sindjelic…

Sinđelić

After a month and a half since the trial in the case of attempted terrorist attacks on election day on 16 October last year began, “busting the indictment of the chief special prosecutor” is still pending although the indictees presented their defence. More precisely: in addition to political triads, little evidence has been presented to deny the allegations of the indictment, Pobjeda writes.

The 14-member group is accused of planning to cause disorder and bloodshed after closing polling stations on 16 October, arrest of then PM Milo Djukanovic and thus prevent Montenegro from joining NATO. The key figures of the operation were agents of the GRU Russian intelligence service Eduard Shishmakov and Vladimir Popov who, according to the indictment, designed a complete operation. They are being tried in absentia, as well as Serbian citizens Predrag Bogicevic, a member of the Ravnogorski Pokret (Ravna Gora Movement), and Nemanja Ristic, a member of the Patriotic Association.

The other ten indictees presented their defence before judge Susana Mugosa. However, they did not deny the details and evidence they are charged with.

On the contrary: the Serbian citizen, Milos Jovanovic, fully pleaded guilty and presented details that further shaken the defence of others involved in the planning of the operation.
