Cigarettes similar to those confiscated by the state in the Port of Bar in September 2022 are being sold these days on the black market in Pljevlja, reports the RTCG portal. It’s about the ‘lemer’ cigarettes, which were illegally sold in the town of Niksic last year.
It’s not yet fully known if these are cigarettes confiscated in Bar, which in the meantime reached the black market, or it’s just tobacco coming into hands of illegal sellers in another way.
‘Lemer’ and ‘dolce’ cigarettes were allegedly sent to Bar by the Middle East company. In one case, customs administration confiscated them on September 7, 2022, and the then Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic attended the opening of the container where they had found them in the Free Zone of the Port of Bar.
At the time, the then head of the Revenues and Customs Administration, Rade Milosevic, said that they had intended to destroy confiscated tobacco, but he himself was arrested for tobacco smuggling soon after. He spent some time in prison, but no indictment has been filed so far.
Meanwhile, state bodies haven’t given the official statement regarding the case.
Tobacco confiscated in Bar a month ago had no excise stamps.
