The building of ‘Vladimir Nazor’ elementary school was ruined in March 2022, whereas the construction of a new one hasn’t started yet. It was first announced that it’d start in the middle of last year, then in autumn, and now they announce it’s going to happen in August.

CdM asked the Ministry of Education whether it’s going to start in August, who’s going to be a responsible contractor…?

In a statement for CdM, the ministry run by Miomir Vojinovic notes that they believe construction works are going to start in August.

“We’re in the midst of valuing bids, both for the selection of a contractor and the supervision over construction of the building of ‘Vladimir Nazor’ elementary school. Both are funded from the credit funds of the European Investment Bank and donor funds from bilateral donors through the WBIF,” the Ministry of Education told CdM.

Recall, Minister Vojinovic in June last year said that the construction of a new facility for the pupils of the Podgorica elementary school ‘Vladimir Nazor’ was supposed to start in September 2022.

At that time, Mr Vojinovic and Prime Minister, Dritan Abazovic, invited pupils and representatives of the teachers and parents of ‘Vladimir Nazor’, who gathered in front of the government’s building to express their dissatisfaction over the matter, to enter the government’s building.

According to the government, Mr Vojinovic said that the procedure for obtaining certain permits has started and the funds for construction of the school had been ensured.
