Good morning! Last night we were struck by the news that our government will ask for the adoption of two nebulous amendments to the resolution on Srebrenica. The reason – to please Vucic and Dodik. Giving their cheek on a platter.

Whose is our government?
First of all, happy Easter to everyone who celebrated the most important and greatest Christian holiday yesterday.
I wish we didn’t have to deal with these topics anymore, or at least not in this way, but that’s probably our birth chart. It is especially unpleasant to deal with genocide for reasons that have nothing to do with genocide. In the past weeks, we explained why Montenegro, in addition to Serbia, before all other countries in the region, has the greatest obligation and debt to not only support, but also co-sponsor the UN resolution. But alas, Montenegro behaves as if it is between a hammer and an anvil, while Dodik and Vucic hit as hard as they can. Serbia has decided that this vote in the UN is a matter of destiny for it and it will not give it up. It demonstrates its regional and global power.
They threatened, no more no less, but with an all-Serbian assembly, which ultimately ended with the Easter wedding of Jovana Jeremic on Pink TV. That’s what we fear and the almighty West trembles before it.
PES is a heterogeneous political organization trying to gather as many ideologically and identity-diverse individuals into its voting fold as an umbrella. And so far, they have succeeded in that. Before them, only DPS could do that. The survival of such a supra-ideological and super-nationalist party in the Balkans, and especially in Montenegro, requires exceptional dexterity and skill. You have to constantly balance and try to keep people together. First officials, then voters. The party’s growth will be blocked by constant wavering and concessions, and over time a decline will follow. Surveys already show a slight decline in support for PES and an increase in support for DPS.
These results may be indicative and subject to change. Support for DPS will certainly be affected by the latest arrests and the announcement of new ones. With these actions, PES distances itself from the independence-supporting voters, towards whom a bridge was built during the overthrow of Dritan Abazovic’s government. As Dritan further marginalizes himself, the resistance to him will be less and less cohesive for the aforementioned Spajic’s affection with independence supporters.
Voting for Kosovo in the Council of Europe and conditionality with the Community of Serb Municipalities, as well as this current situation with Srebrenica – proposing amendments to the already agreed text of the resolution, shows that PES is sinking deeper and deeper into the embrace of Andrija Mandic, and thus together into the embrace of Dodik and Vucic. And finally, Putin. Like matryoshka dolls, which we call babushkas. From the smallest to the largest.
And not everyone in the chain needs to be aware of what they are doing. And most often they are not. It is clear that there is an invisible hand that perfectly aligns them to do everything according to the intended direction. Like magnetism that pulls the compass needle unerringly north.
This is not a conspiracy theory. That is, it is, but it is by no means a conspiracy of people, but a conspiracy of the spirit. Ideology is someone’s conspiracy of the spirit. Spajic or Milatovic do not have to be conspirators of the same spirit. It is enough for them to pander to the indoctrinated masses, or public opinion contaminated by misinformation and propaganda, specially designed to block the decision-making process.
Serbia, and Montenegro, are under tremendous and uncontrolled pressure from the propaganda of Vucic’s media. That campaign made Kosovo and Srebrenica taboo topics in Serbia. It is a dogma that is not touched. It was not like that in Serbia. And that is now gradually but surely spilling over into Montenegro.
If Spajic realizes that there is no real strength there, and that they are threatening him with cobwebs, then PES will finally consolidate. If they continue to play to the tunes of the northern neighbour, then they are destined for a failure and a sad fate for Montenegro in which that cobweb will petrify over time and become a real threat.
Because neither voting ban nor ethno-national identity gender, call it what you will, will respect wavering. Because, whether you are a Montenegrin or a Serb from Montenegro, you are certainly not happy that your government responded to the indirect threat of Vucevic in that “I hope that your actions…” with amendments to the resolution on Srebrenica. Maybe it’s not like that, but from here in Budva, from this frog’s perspective, things seem like that.
That’s it for today. We wish you a pleasant rest of the day.
