As announced by the NTO, the concept of the award has been significantly changed and improved:
“We have reduced the number of categories in which recognition is given and intensified monitoring of criteria for candidates, so that we would stimulate the competitive spirit of our tourism entities all tear round”, the statement said.
A total of six awards and two commendations for outstanding contribution to improving the quality of the tourism offer in 2015 we awarded. Prizes were awarded in the categories of hotels, restaurants, beaches, beach bars, events and attractions. “Lovcen” plaques and sculptures of the associate professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, Nenad Soskic, and full professor of graphic design at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, Ana Matic, were also given.
The decision on the categories and winners for 2015 was adopted by the committee formed by the Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development, Branimir Gvozdenovic, and it included: the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism – President Predrag Jelusic and members of the committee, prof. Dr. Rade Ratkovic from the Faculty of Business and Tourism in Budva, doc. Dr. Milena Jovicevic from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, editor in chief of Radio Television of Montenegro, Radojka Rutović, general manager of Aman Resorts, Kevin Brook, director of the RLC Montenegro, Rade Ljumović, president of the Football Association of Montenegro, Dejan Savicevic, the coach of women’s national handball team, Dragan Adzic, songwriter Sergej Cetkovic, director of Explorer travel agency, Luka Bulatovic, editor in chief of the magazine for hospitality and tourism “Cafe Montenegro”, Sanja Golubovic, Milan Bukarica from the Association of chefs of Montenegro, and the manager of the National Tourism Organization, Emil Kukalj.
The ceremony of the prestigious national awards was attended by Montenegrin President, Filip Vujanovic, under whose auspices the award has been given in the past 11 years, the Deputy Prime Minister, Vujica Lazovic, Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development, Branimir Gvozdenovic, Mayor of Podgorica, Slavoljub Stijepović, ambassadors and members of diplomatic corps and many guests from the tourism, cultural and public life.
WBA national awards were established in 2005 and aimed at encouraging and affirming the tourism sector, improvement of quality, promotion and competition, creation and recognition of tourism values, following the strategic commitment to create a sustainable and recognizable tourist product of Montenegro, whose basic premise is quality at all levels of the tourism offer.
