The Government must do everything necessary to keep jobs, despite the coronavirus crisis, and it must provide help for around 30.000 who worked in the grey zone before the crisis, said secretary general of the Union of Trade Unions in Montenegro, Mr Duško Zarubica.
He points out that IDF must provide support for small and medium enterprises and great companies will have to sacrifice part of their profit.
Mr Zarubica says the Union insists that ell employees should have their fixed-term contracts extended.
He stresses that the burden of coming out of the crisis shouldn’t be borne by employees.
“We have expressed our dissatisfaction and disagreement with the statement that banks should increase debt towards those who had delayed the repayment. Contracts which are due to expire this month should be extended . We also want the country to pay minimum wage and contributions to people who have children under 11 or are in quarantine”, Mr Zarubica said.
If there’s not enough money, Mr Zarubica proposed re-balancing of budget and borrowing.
He says there are around 30.000 who worked in the grey zone before the pandemic.
He says that nothing can be settled with the second package of measures.
He points at the fact that a small number of employers acted irresponsibly amid crisis.
“Two tourism companies tried to change working conditions for their workers. It was unlawful attempt and the inspection reacted promptly”, Mr Zarubica says.
State to guarantee loans
Mr Zarubica adds that some companies don’t have property to pledge for the loan and proposes state as guarantor.
“Reduction in the price of lease should be considered too”, Mr Zarubica says.
