Census results prove that despite a blatant propaganda, strong pressures for ethno-federalizm and imposing an ethnic concept, Montenegro has managed to preserve its civic character, the Leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, Danijel Zivkovic, said.
“Ethnic engineering clearly failed. It’s confirmed that Montenegro has a strong, civic, multiethnic core, standing firm in defence of state interests,” Mr Zivkovic stressed.
However, he added, those who tried to cover Montenegro with the veil of nationalism were not satisfied with the results.
“By using control mechanisms, the opposition prevented ethnic engineering, despite strong and continuous pressures, especially following the change of power.”
