Kovacevic will replace Ranko Lazovic who resigned from that position earlier this month. Zorica Kovacevic graduated from the Faculty of Law. From 2003 to 2005 she was the deputy minister of health and from 2005 to 2012 she was at the head of the Danilovgrad Health Centre “Dimitrije Dika Marenic”.
During her seven year term as the head of the Danilovgrad Health Centre, she was able to get the facility operations under control. Thanks to her, in the opinion of both patients and political opponents, the Danilovgrad Health Centre was the best organised and the most efficient primary health care unit in Montenegro.
According to DN, Kovacevic has been brought to KCCG for that reason. In recent years, the largest national healthcare facility has been facing large problems, including human capital flight. Kovacevic is expected to do what her predecessors Lazovic and Milan Mijovic failed – to properly organise the Clinical Centre of Montenegro and restore citizens’ confidence in the largest medical institution in Montenegro.
