Increase in excise duties will lead to grey market growth

Ilustracija

The Union of Employers of Montenegro (UPCG) has criticized the Government’s proposed budget in the part in which it is planned to increase excise duties on tobacco and tobacco products, Dan reports.

The UPCG states that in Montenegro, even today, we are witnessing the existence of a very pronounced “grey zone” on the cigarette market.

It’s added that when it comes to the proposed 2021 Budget, the UPCG recognizes in it the intention of the proposer to, through certain budget items, ensure the rationalization of public spending, which the UPCG welcomes.
