Vuković: New attempts to rehabilitate failed projects

Miodrag Vuković

While all democratic structures in the whole world are adapting to new circumstances provoked by coronavirus pandemic, specific structures in Montenegro are using this time to continue to rehabilitate old failed projects, says in the interview for Dnevne novine, Mr Miodrag Vuković, DPS member.

Asked to comment on the new gathering organized by Serbian Orthodox Church and pro-Serbian organization, Mr Vuković says that he is not surprised as our country has problem with anti-Semitic structures.

“And that’s a fact. While the world is fighting against invisible enemy it practically knows nothing about, we have problem with anti-Semitic structures”,Mr Vuković says categorically.

Asked if the majority of the political competition will try to blur actions with other reasons, DPS member, man of great political experience, says that it is just cover-up for acting against Montenegro.

“The whole rational, patriotic, man-oriented world has organized to protect citizens and their fundamental rights and freedoms. It is true that measures have been eased but the situation is still very carefully monitored. Everybody’s aware of the great risk, and we are learning through this fight”, Mr Vuković said.

Everywhere in the world, he adds, mass gathering are banned.

“Those countries that decide o bring athletes back on the track will do that with strict adherence to measures and without audience. International events have been suspended for y year or two. And none of that gets through our structures which refuse to five up on their plan. Everything they do, they do with a plan, on purpose and that’s very dangerous for the stability of this country”, Mr Vuković says.

Commenting on the attempts to minimize efforts and results of professionals and Montenegrin institutions, Mr Vuković says that only those who are blinded by the necessity to achieve what they have tried achieve many times so far could do that.

“They tried to do that 25 years ago and 14 years ago on the referendum and four years ago when we became NATO member. And now they are going that far as to minimize and discredit efforts of doctors, medical staff and people who deserve admiration and respect. We have heroes of modern times, heroes who have been in their shadow of the political structures which are exclusive, crippled…”, Mr Vuković says.

Mr Vuković isn’t surprised with attempts of political competition to discredit results achieved in fight against coronavirus.

“They are evidently anxious. They don’t think about consequences of the virus, they only think about the fact that things are getting out of their control, and that many of them have already failed trying to achieve something while breaking the law and measures the entire world is adhering to. Our system doesn’t respond hastily, it reacts rationally”, Mr Vuković says.

He firmly believes Montenegro will do its best to maintain the level of results achieved so far and protect citizens’ health and lives until appropriate cure is found.

Double game of the Serbian Orthodox Church?

Mr Vuković says clearly that revival of religious processions in Berane is reflection of political views and calls for the obstruction of collective efforts to suppress spread of the coronavirus.

“Whose priests took to the streets in Berane? Are they part of the double game of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro”, Mr Vuković asks.

WE MUST NOT TURN INTO NEGATIVE EXAMPLE IN FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

“Montenegro has done great job. Nine deaths, hospital capacities haven’t been overwhelmed, the society has demonstrated impressive level of cooperation… Everything had a purpose and measure. The reaction was proactive, preventive and strategic. What is looming now is a destructive wave coming from some religious and political structures that are not happy with Montenegrin successes. We must not allow Montenegro to turn out into negative example in the fight against Covid-19”, Mr Vuković says.
