Health of Montenegro’s citizens is at a really dangerous point. The terrible Covid-19 death toll and infections in Montenegro require timely introduction and efficient implementation of epidemiological measures, a complete closure of borders for all visitors without PCR tests and the acceleration of Covid-19 vaccine rollout, the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, told in an address to the nation today on the occasion of the epidemiological situation in Montenegro.
“Over 1.000 citizens of Montenegro had died of the coronavirus in more than 11 months. What was sad news in April or May last year in friendly countries around the world with far larger population, which is why I’d sent expressions of sympathy and solidarity to the heads of states on behalf of the citizens of Montenegro and on my own behalf, is our tragic reality today,” Mr Đukanović noted.

According to him, horrifying figures related to daily Covid deaths and infections must not leave anyone indifferent.
“We’re facing a serious health threat. It’s why I urge state bodies at all levels, all social institutions and citizens to get back to the activities and responsible behavior like it was during the first wave of the pandemic, as it enabled us to control the situation somewhat. We need a systematic approach, joint action of competent institutions, professionalism, efficiency and solidary in performing all affairs, now more than ever.”
