The 2022 tourism season is about to start, we expect recovery, however, without a stable country, that is, its most important institutions (government, parliament, judiciary and prosecution, central bank, healthcare institutions and security…) it’s impossible for the industry to function properly, especially the tourism industry, warns Dr. Rade Ratkovic, the Dean of the Budva Faculty for Business and Tourism.
In a statement for Pobjeda daily, he says that the majority of institutions has been paralysed for almost two years and are under the illegitimate and illegal impact of the foreign factor from the political, state, media and church sphere.
In his opinion, institutions represent an important part of the entrepreneurship triangle – owner, entrepreneur and state. “The state has a duty to maintain stability and run the economic policy.”
As we’ve lost the Ukrainian and Belarusian market, we have to find another ones, but, Mr Ratkovic believes, we’re late for “stronger” markets this year and will have to focus on the region.
Finally, he has a message for a future tourism ministry: “If they form that ministry and equip it adequately, the first would be to update the marketing strategy, that is, the 2018 marketing plan and implement the key elements of that plan for the current and next tourism season.”
