The Secretary General of the Association of Banks (UBCG), Bratislav Pejakovic, says in the Radio Montenegro’s Link show that he does not expect an increase in interest rates in the coming period. He has assessed that the current interest rates are of good quality in relation to the environment.
“The average interest rate is 6% annually, and you have 15% inflation, it is logical that we have high-quality interest rates in relation to the environment in which we operate”, Pejakovic has said.
When asked about the impact of inflation on variable interest rates, the Secretary General of the Association of Banks said:
“The intensity of inflation is questionable. If all the elements come together, we can expect a drop in inflation, and thus a drop in the interest rate…”
He has explained that economic systems around the world have cycles – ups and downs.
