Citizens recognize the need for the formation of a joint movement comprising the Social Democrats (SD), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Liberal Party (LP), because the achievements reached over the past four years won’t lead Montenegro to the European Union (EU), the SD MP Branislav Nenezic has assessed.

As he has said, the idea for the formation of alliance has come as a need to unite the parties that impacted the adoption of some very important and big decisions for Montenegro over the past period, such as the start of negotiations with both the EU and NATO.
In a statement for the MINA news agency, he’s noted that they have been talking to citizens, adding that the alliance would include some prominent persons.
According to Mr Nenezic, it’s expected that the leaders of the mentioned parties would sign the agreement in the next few weeks, when the public would also know more about its specific goals.
He has also said that the SD-SDP-LP bloc is going to go in the Budva local election jointly, noting that it would be one of the envisaged ways of cooperation for the future alliance.
Asked whether they invited the DPS to join the bloc, Mr Nenezic said everyone who wished the best for Montenegro was welcome to enter the alliance.
The aim of the movement, as he said, was to strive for the wellbeing of Montenegro citizens, adding that he was convinced that a large number of intellectuals would back it.
