Montenegro’s Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property has launched an international competition for the urban-architectural concept design of Block A1, the first phase of the Velje Brdo residential development in Podgorica. Covering 61,356 m², the competition aims to select a high-quality, sustainable solution that integrates urban, functional, aesthetic and environmental standards and will be incorporated into amendments to the city’s spatial plan.
The competition is open from 31 December 2025 to 31 March 2026, and is overseen by an international jury of architects, planners and experts. The total prize fund includes €100,000 for first place, €65,000 for second, €40,000 for third, and two purchase awards of €10,000 each, with the project positioned as a flagship example of modern, sustainable urban development.
