PM on opposition: Let them get out of cafes and take responsibility

Prime minister Dusko Markovic said that the government needed to work on life issues and that the opposition should get out of the cafes on the Vektra Square and take responsibility.

Markovic visited the construction site on the road section Kolasin-Lubnica-Berane. Responding to reporters’ questions, he said that he would certainly not renew calls for dialogue with the opposition, noting that when presenting the exposé he had pointed out “that compromise was the key government policy guideline”.

“I invited all but DF to join the government. However, there is no response. We cannot invite someone to join us on a daily basis. We need to finish the work, to hire people, to open construction sites, to bring in new investors, to stabilise public finances. We do not have enough time to advise the opposition every day: get out of the cafes in the Vektra Square and let’s talk about politics – we do not have time for that,” said Markovic.

He added that there were more important things.

“What is happening here today is much more important to me, as well as the things planned for tomorrow in Cetinje, next week again in Petnjica, then in Zabljak – how to improve our resorts and ski resorts. Those who earn €2,000 salaries from the state budget sitting at their homes and expecting me to invite them every week – they will wait for a while. We are open to dialogue and the opposition has to take responsibility and to work in the interest of the country, to seek political mechanisms to topple the government in the Parliament. But all of us have to work in the interest of the country,” said Markovic.
