Negotiations for the establishment of local self-government in Cetinje begin tomorrow.

The Social Democrats (SD) and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) are most likely to start the negotiations round. According to information obtained by CdM, the DPS negotiating team will include agriculture minister Milutin Simovic, DPS Presidency member Daliborka Pejovic, the DPS list leader in the Cetinje elections Aleksandar Bogdanovic and the chairman of the Cetinje DPS Committee Jovan Martinovic.

SD team will be led by deputy leader of the party Damir Sehovic. The chairman of the Cetinje SD Committee Ivan Gazivoda, SD coordinator for Cetinje Goran Petrovic and Ivan Ivanovic are members of Sehovic’s team.

The Social Democrats will offer a platform focused on addressing citizens’ problems, urban development and investments, whereas the posts in the city authorities will not be priority.
The SD platform envisages work on improving the infrastructure as the basis for a successful development of tourism and opening up production facilities, which would lead to an increase in employment. Special attention and budget allocations should be dedicated to citizens in need and young athletes. SD will insist on focusing on both suburban and rural areas, primarily in terms of improving infrastructure. As SD says, the platform prioritises solving poor water supply issue.

In addition to the DPS, SD would also be able to talk to Dritan Abazovic’s URA Civic Movement, since the party called on negotiations immediately after the elections.
As the URA list leader in the Cetinje elections Filip Adzic recently said, this party has only one goal – to set Cetinje free from, as he put it, the criminal DPS.
“We are ready for any sort of agreement only to topple the criminal DPS,” he said.
