MJU will relaunch e-petition: Giving voice to citizens

cof

In the end of last year, the Government of Montenegro adopted the information provided by the Ministry of Public Administration, MJU, on re-launching the e-petition platform: Giving voice to citizens. This platform will be operational as of second half of February, according to the MJU.

New version of the platform will require 3,000 votes instead of the previous 6,000 so that a petition might be submitted to the government for consideration. MJU explained the non-governmental sector asked for this change, as many citizens do not have internet access, writes Pobjeda daily.

Another improvement suggested by the NGOs and later on approved by the government is to enable the local self-government units to use this platform as well. “This would enable citizens to launch petitions that fall under local self-government responsibility.”

As for the initiative to introduce a possibility of launching petitions, that is, requests for dismissal of officials, it will be considered in due course.
