“With the support of less than one percent of the voters of Montenegro, leader of DF Andrija Mandic, Slaven Radunovic and the others tried to organize a coup in Montenegro. That was their only intention and the goal of the protest, regardless of their justifications. It is clear to everyone today that leaders of DF tried to do what they were planning from the beginning – to cause instability in the country and violently take over the power, in order to destroy Montenegrin sovereignity from those positions. It is clear that those who supported them, like Srdjan Milic, don’t care about citizens or the country, or even their own party, but only about their own personal selfish interests”, it was said from DPS.
Democratic party of socialists expects from Supreme prosecutor’s office to investigate all circumstances of last night’s events organized by DF, and from Police directorate to identify all those who caused incidents and to inform Montenegrin public about all of this.
“Compromised DF even after all that’s happened doesn’t understand that laws are equal for everyone, for both citizens and politicians regardless of their position, and that in no circumstances can they be above the law. They can be angry all they want, but in the country that follows the rule of law like Montenegro does, one has to be held accountable in front of the law for what he or she has done. And what they did and said last night can be clarly seen on videos of local, regional and international media”, it was said from DPS.
As they added, followers of Andrija Mandic should know that DPS never understood or engaged in acts of violence and hooliganism, which is the main characteristic of DF’s politics.
“For DPS, civilized dialogue without threats, blackmailing, and with full respect of political subjects is the only acceptable way of overcoming challenges and we will remain persistent in this. DPS would like to pay respect to all political parties and other organizations that did not support anti-Montenegrin politics of Democratic front and their destructive protests, by which they contributed to lowering the tensions and continuation of political dialogue through the institutions of the system”, it was concluded in DPS’s announcement.
