The total number of noted illegally using electricity consumers in Montenegro in 2016 was 8.700, CEDIS (Montenegrin Electro-distributive System) state for Dan daily.
Illegal using of electrical energy, connection to the network without consent, connection after termination due to debt are irregularities treated as unauthorized consumption.
“CEDIS is continuously working to prevent these occurances. Controls are done daily”, they stated.
The most illegal connections were registered in region 2 – Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje.
According to them, once the team discovers the illegal connection, the consumer is terminated from the network and a criminal/misdemeanor report is submitted.
