Next week, Montenegrin Ministry of Health will present a brand new model of scheduling/cancelling doctor’s appointments. This means that there will be targeted reminder phone calls to patients several days before their scheduled appointment, so that they may confirm or cancel them if they wish so.
The Ministry says patients will probably confirm their doctor’s appointment by pressing the 1 key on their phone, and the 9 key in case they wish to cancel it. “In this way, we will have 25-38% more appointments booked,” the Ministry told Pobjeda daily.
The newly introduced doctor’s scheduling system, which has been applying in Montenegro since last year, causes numerous problems in health care system, esp. when it comes to patients.
Citizens are continuously complaining about it, hoping the Ministry will do something constructive in this sense.
