Ministry of Economy has been working on implementing energy efficiency for 12 years and numerous projects have been carried out so far, Mr Marko Radulović, director general of the Directorate for Energy Efficiency, has said.
Ministry of Economy today celebrates the World Day of Energy Efficiency.
Mr Radulović pointed out that one of the projects was also cooperation with the World Bank in relation to the implementation of energy efficiency in health and education facilities, as well as cooperation with the German KFW bank.
“A total of €3,6 million was invested in this project. Measures of energy efficiency have been implemented in almost 1.500 households”, Mr Radulović said.
“The next phase of the Energy efficient home project will start in May. Citizens will be able to apply for and get interest-free loans for equipping their homes in an energy-efficient way”, Mr Radulović concluded.
Deputy mayor of Podgorica, Ms Slađana Vujačić, said that today’s event was tradition of the Ministry and Capital.
Last year the Capital started reconstruction of LED lighting, one of the capital projects, worth €4,6 million.
“We are very proud of the fact that Podgorica is the first town in the region to be fully covered with LED technology system”, Ms Vujačić pointed out.
She stressed that the Capital would soon start the project aimed at making several buildings in town completely energy efficient.
