The civic opposition may be boycotting the presidential election, URA leader Dratan Abazovic told CdM. As he said, this topic was launched at the last meeting of the leaders of SDP, URA, Demos, Democrats and SNP on Monday.
“At the meeting we discussed possible boycott of presidential elections, as well as some other elections to be held in 2018. It is clear that it will not be possible to amend electoral legislation in line with OSCE’s recommendations. The matter remains to be considered,” Abazovic said.
He was clear – the civic opposition continues boycotting Parliament, adding that it should be discussed whether it is necessary to further radicalise the political scene.
“Maybe to start the general boycott of all institutions, including local institutions even in those municipalities where the opposition is in power… I’m not an opponent of any idea. It is important to achieve the goal, to exert pressure on the DPS and call for new parliamentary elections,” Abazovic said.
He said Democratic Front (DF) had made a mistake when returned to Parliament.
“I understand that they suffer the biggest pressure from the system, but they shouldn’t have interrupted the boycott. So I urge them ‘to end this return’ because we have not yet made full pressure on DPS,” Abazovic said.
