In an interview for the public broadcaster, RTCG, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Dritan Abazović, said that proposed amendments to the prosecutorial laws were needed and the ruling majority backed them all.
“We unanimously agree that with such prosecutor’s offices we can hardly make progress in the fight against corruption and organized crime,” he assessed.
According to him, the government has to make steps forward concerning prosecutor’s offices.
“We cannot expect other state bodies to do the job of the prosecutor’s office. To be frank, there is some progress, but it’s not enough,” Mr Abazović told speaking in a TV show titled ‘Arguments’.
He also hailed another novelty – special prosecutors will be dissolved.
“No one will be above the interests of the country, and I think it’s the right thing.”
The Deputy Prime Minister claimed the results of changes would be visible, adding that they were going to accept the assistance of foreign experts.
“Citizens maybe expect changes to happen faster, but we’ve been in power for two months and didn’t take over the Government of Sweden but of Montenegro.”
