Deputy Prime Minister, Dritan Abazović, stated today that there was no need to sparkle tensions over the announced signing of the fundamental agreement between the state and the Serbian Orthodox Church, SPC. Asked how it was possible that he hadn’t seen the document, Mr Abazović said he would have an insight into it, and that as a deputy prime minister he could but didn’t want to do everything in the government. According to him, there’s no need for fuelling tensions over the agreement and “it’s not so urgent to sign and publish it“.
He pointed out that no one “can deprive us of the right to voice our opinion on a certain document”, but wouldn’t like the situation with the religion law to repeat – when tensions ran high, but once the document was adopted, no one has ever mentioned it again.
