Activities on construction sites don’t stop

Implementation of important capital investments of the Government of Montenegro is going according to plan, despite difficulties provoked by coronavirus pandemic.

“Public Works Administration currently has around 20 active construction sites. With the aim of preventing spread of the coronavirus, workers adhere to recommendations and measures”, Government said.

Special attention has been given to the organization of activities on high-construction sites whereas mechanization is mostly engaged in the low-construction projects.

Working under special condition won’t have a considerable impact on the dynamics of works.

“As far as Đalovića cave in Bijelo Polje is concerned, activities are organized in several positions. Construction of a 5,7-kilometer road from Bistrica settlement to Podrvh monastery is underway, together with the construction of substation and installation of energy infrastructure and recovery of slopes. The entire section is expected to be ready for asphalting in the incoming months. It will be followed by the installation of a ropeway with a gondola, arrangement of a cave, construction of accompanying facilities and other segments of the project”, Government said.

Construction of “Dušan Korać” elementary school in Bijelo Poje is going well too.

Olive growers watch the “rise” of the national House of Olives in Bart every day. This investment is €1 million worth.

On the construction site of accommodation facilities for the purposes of the Sector of special police, several construction segments are active.

“Some crafting works in the interior of the kindergarten in Rožaje are underway, just like works on the construction of a footbridge and transfer station with recycle center in Mojkovac, water supply grid in Zaton in Bijelo Polje, construction of Prnjavorska and Gusinjska street, reconstruction of a road in Resnik”, Government states.

However, it is certain that unfavorable situation provoked by the coronaviris will affect some projects – for example stadium in Cetinje.

In addition, reconstruction of the pool in Kotor will suffer mostly due to the difficulties with the provision and import of already ordered material and equipment.

“Public Works Administration will do its best to maintain the activities on construction sites while adhering to measures and orders”, Government concludes.
