Defence attorneys in the attempted terrorism trial started with a new defence strategy. They are giving their best to depict cooperative witness Sasa Sindjelic as a person acting upon instructions from the Serbian Security and Information Service (BIA).
They wish to prove that the entire state coup plot was fabricated by BIA, in cooperation with the Montenegrin National Security Agency (ANB). They plan to present Sindjelic as the services’ man who agreed to testify against the defendants in order to get them pronounced guilty.
This scenario was hinted last week when attorneys Goran Petronijevic and Miroje Jovanovic asked Sindjelic numerous questions about BIA agents, Sindjelic’s meetings with them, premises he visited when he decided to surrender, etc.
Sindjelic began his testimony on 25 October last year. Once he finishes, US citizen Brian Scott will provide his testimony via video link. According to his previous statement, DF addressed him for logistical assistance.
