The energy consultant in the Consumers Protection Centre Predrag Boljevic expected the government would have terminated the contract with Skoda Praha on TE Block 2 earlier.
According to him, the delays in creating new capacities in the Pljevlja basin were unacceptable, as it might result in declining economic growth.
He is satisfied with the decision to reconstruct the TE Block 1.
“I hope the government will continue to find a way and a partner for the TE Block 2. Until then, this is the best possible move,” Boljevic told Pobjeda. “Thus Montenegro becomes a regional leader in aligning with new environmental standards.”
He expects that hydropower plants on the Moraca river would be constructed simultaneously with the TE reconstruction.
