Montenegro makes progress in achieving key reforms, from the strengthening of democratic institutions to the strengthening of the rule of law, assessed Chair of the OSCE and Malta’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ian Borg.
Following the meeting with Montenegro’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimovic, at a news conference, Mr Borg said his visit to Montenegro emphasized a well-established and efficient partnership between the OSCE and Montenegro, as they had united their forces to improve stability and progress.
As he said, the OSCE Mission in Montenegro was actively engaged with national and local entities, bringing expertise in key areas, such as youth engagement and gender equality.
According to him, since the beginning of the OSCE chairmanship, they have focused on Southeastern Europe, where they have six missions and over a thousand employees. He also praised the OSCE mission in Podgorica and experts working in it.
Minister Ibrahimovic stressed that the meeting was not only a diplomatic, but a symbol of a common commitment to peace, stability and progress in the region and beyond.
“This visit is particularly important and sends a strong message of support and friendship,” he said.
