Even though the High Court in Podgorica issued a final judgment that Boris Raonic was illegally elected as General Director of the RTCG national broadcaster in August 2021, at today’s session of the RTCG Council, he was re-elected to that position. At the beginning of the session, Council member Amina Muric’s proposal to close the session to the public was rejected. Muric is the deputy director of the Civic Alliance, which was headed by Raonic before taking the post of RTCG general director.
Previously, at today’s session, the Council members decided to reconsider which of the registered candidates in the previous competition from 2021 they would appoint as general director.
The Council accepted the proposal to vote on four candidates – Nikola Markovic, Srdjan Covic, Milutin Stijepovic and Boris Raonic.
Voting was secret, and five of the six members present voted. Milica Spajak said earlier that she would not vote if the director was elected today.
Council Vice President Marijana Camovic Velickovic left the session, resenting the fact that Raonic was included in the list of candidates like the others.
