Both DF and Democrats want leading position in the parliament

Negotiating teams of the tripartite coalition, which is to form new government, failed to reach an agreement on the candidate for the president of the Parliament, at the meeting held last night.

Several sources close to the top of the new majority have told Pobjeda that Democratic Front and Democratic Montenegro both want leading position in the parliament.

“We have different starting positions. DF believes that the function of the president of the parliament belongs to them while Democratic Montenegro expects the same”, the source said.

Constitutive session will be held on Wednesday, 23 September.

The source said it was very possible that name of the candidate “will not be known yet”.

The meeting held last night also discussed views of the commissions in charge of drafting the program of economic reforms and the second agreement which will elaborate on judicial reforms and Law on Freedom of Religion.

“This is just the beginning. Patience is what we need”, the source said.

Under the pressure of Western embassies, radical politicians from DF will not have their place in the Government.
