By June 2019 inflation rate will hit 2.8%

According to the Central Bank of Montenegro, CBCG, the inflation at the end of this year and the first 2 quarters of 2019 will, with 90% probability be 2,8%, this institution told Pobjeda, a daily.

“The econometric model of the Central Bank shows that the inflation will lie within the range 10.8% to 3.9%, with the central view of 2.8%. The 2018 average inflation rate will hit 3%,” reported the Central Bank of Montenegro, CBCG.

When asked about the effects of the inflation on industry, the CBCG told they didn’t expect negative impacts of it. “In 2018, we expect somewhat higher inflation rate following the fiscal consolidation measures which caused the increase in VAT and excise rates and consequently higher stock prices of oil. Therefore, there’s no wonder the banks and businessmen this year expect higher inflation rates.”
