The Social Democrats (SD), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Liberal Party (LP) are forming a new supra-party movement called the European Alliance, CdM has learned.
After the positive decisions made by the SD, SDP and LP party bodies, the formation of a new big block on the Montenegrin political scene is certain. Representatives of these parties have held intensive discussions in recent months regarding the formation of this supra-party movement, and, as CdM learns, its programme commitments have almost been agreed upon.
It is already certain that, in addition to the party alliance, this alliance will also have a non-party part in the form of a large number of independent intellectuals, successful entrepreneurs, artists, the best Montenegrin students, as well as social and environmental activists.
The leadership, membership and sympathizers of these three parties decided on this move because of the need for the civil opposition forces to make a new step towards joint action and a unified political platform, but also because of the need to make a strong contribution to the stabilization of political and social conditions.
They expect that the Alliance will receive the support of a large number of Montenegrin citizens after its formation, and it is open, as CdM learns, to all civil movements, organizations and individuals who are found in the set values and principles proclaimed by the Constitution of Montenegro.
