We remind that Mr Milovanovic was arrested yesterday upon the order of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Organised Crime within the investigation into the millions of damage to the Municipality of Budva in connection to the construction of the concert plateau at Jaz beach. Mr. Milovanovic has been signatory of the annex of the contract between the Municipality of Budva and his company “Gugi commerce” concluded in 2007 before the concert of the Rolling Stones in Budva, for which the plateau was needed.
Mr Milovanovic pleaded not guilty yesterday when questioned by the prosecutor.
In addition to him, Aco Ognjenovic, the former Secretary for Housing and Communal Affairs in Budva, was questioned as a witness regarding construction of the TQ Plaza.
We remind that the Special Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against 13 residents of Budva, mostly municipal officials, including former and current Presidents of the Municipality of Budva, on suspicion of abuse of office and damage to the local budget in the amount of over €10 million.
It is suspected that the current and former municipal leaders and members of the Value Assessment Commission for construction works on the plateau for music events at Jaz beach had paid to company “Gugi Commerce” €2 million over the actual value of works done.
