Thousands of customers yesterday, as it was the first moratorium day, rushed to inform banks they’re going to use their right to a moratorium. Banks in Montenegro expect the same scenario by the end of the week.
Citizens submit a request for the activation of the moratorium by telephone, e-mail or registered mail. All banks will publish detailed guidelines on the application procedure in the media or on their websites. A bank has to ensure the moratorium activation within five working days of request receipt. As for the application procedure – it’s more or less the same in all banks.
Citizens need to fulfill the request by inserting their unique identification number, name and surname, the father’s name, phone number, e-mail, the name of their employer, a number and type of the loan. As for the companies, they’re required to insert they taxpayer identification number, the company’s name, phone number, the name of an authorized person, the number of contract and e-mail. Both citizens and companies can opt for the loan repayment period of either 30 or 60 or 90 days.
